Geological Risk Assessment and Warning System
Spanning across vast features of land cover, long-distance oil and gas pipeline is susceptible to the risk of geological hazards like landslip which could lead to pipeline deformation and rupture. It is therefore critical to monitor the pipeline system in a timely manner to prevent accidents.
This is more so in remote areas where signs of geological deformation are not obvious and are difficult to detect by manual inspection. Even in plain areas, the geological settlement of two adjacent pipelines may be different, causing uneven front and back forces resulting in shear force and rupture of the welded part of the pipeline.
Spacegen has the high-precision measures to monitor the pipeline system periodically and continuously. More specifically, Spacegen can extract millimetre-scale deformation information of the surface through synthetic aperture radar SRS technology, effectively assessing the probability of landslides, debris flows and other geological disasters in the monitoring area. Spacegen also assists in the digitalisation of pipeline monitoring and provide data and technical support for the early detection of geological disaster and adoption of safety measures to preserve the safety of pipelines systems.
External Intrusion Monitoring System and High Impact Zone Identification
External intrusion can occur in the form of third party construction activities, which should be closely monitored and properly controlled to prevent any potential damage to the oil and gas pipeline structures. Using change detection analysis and object recognition algorithm on high resolution satellite image, Spacegen is able to detect any ongoing construction sites near to the pipeline structures, measuring their perpendicular distance to the pipelines and assessing its risk level.
